Privacy. Explained clearly.

This page explains what data the website processes, why it is used and what choices are available to you.

Responsibility

Who is responsible.

Michael Schnyder is responsible for processing data on this website.

For privacy questions or requests concerning your data, email privat@schnyder-werbung.ch.

Details you provide

Forms and the book download.

When you use the contact form, your name, email address, an optional company or role detail and your message are processed. Registration for the book download processes your first and last name, email address, company, role, optional telephone number, language, consent and – if selected – your preference to receive occasional news.

This information is used to respond to your request, provide the download and count its use. You will only receive occasional news if you activate the separate option; you can withdraw this consent at any time by email.

Protection against abuse

When a form is submitted, a pseudonymous identifier derived from the IP address using HMAC and the User-Agent are stored with the form record to detect abuse. The IP address itself is not stored. Form, analytics and administration endpoints additionally use separate HMAC keys for time-limited access controls; expired controls are removed on the next request to a rate-limited endpoint. Form details and associated security data are retained only as long as necessary for the stated purposes, security and any applicable legal obligations.

Website analytics

First-party analytics without visitor profiles.

The website measures its use with an in-house, data-minimising analytics system. Only daily totals are stored, comprising page path, event, language, broad browser viewport category, source category and count. They do not create individual browsing histories.

The analytics system uses no cookies, stores no IP addresses in its analytics data and creates no visitor profiles. Referrer domains and UTM parameters are assigned to a general source category in the browser; only that category is transmitted and stored. A 400-day retention period is intended for aggregates; older entries are removed on the next analytics event or dashboard request. Enabled Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals are respected; no analytics event is sent in that case.

Technology

Service providers and technically necessary cookies.

OpenAI Sites

The website, its server functions and the associated database are operated through OpenAI Sites. This involves processing the technical data needed to keep the website secure and functional, along with information submitted through forms.

Resend

Resend is used to deliver contact and download emails. The email address and content required for the relevant message are passed to the delivery service.

Spotify

A Spotify audiobook player is embedded on the home page. Loading or using the player establishes a connection to Spotify. Spotify may process the IP address as well as device, browser and usage data, and use cookies or comparable storage technologies. For more information, see Spotify’s Privacy Policy.

Technical bot and abuse protection

The hosting and security infrastructure may set short-lived cookies that are technically necessary for bot and abuse protection, for example __cf_bm. These cookies are not part of website analytics and Michael Schnyder does not use them for advertising or visitor profiles.

Protected administration area

A successful sign-in at /admin/ additionally sets a technically necessary session cookie. It protects administrative access, is not part of public website analytics and is not used for advertising or profiling.

Your choice

Under applicable data protection law, you may in particular request access to the personal data processed about you, ask for inaccurate data to be corrected or data to be deleted, and object to processing where provided by law. Send your request to privat@schnyder-werbung.ch. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) also provides information about data subject rights.
